NOMAD SPEEDER

The Nomad Speeder is Rad Rux's longer, rougher answer to traveling through Burning Springs. Its barrel-shaped body hangs above the ground, with a saddle, exposed engine and a round cage at one end. There are no tires to patch, though there is still plenty of machinery a sensible rider would check before setting off.

Rusty bands hold the large tank-like sections together, and the gauges and lamps sit close to the rider's position. The small skull decorations are a stern touch, but the shape is what caught my eye. Rux has stretched the whole arrangement into something that looks assembled for one person and a long journey.

I have always preferred knowing where the next solid step will land. Rux seems willing to take a different view, at least when he is building. The Speeder carries the same careful salvage work I see in his homes, only this time he has packed it around an engine instead of a front door.
