Bubble heard folks say this big house was too large to furnish, and apparently took that as a challenge. Frosty Ash Estate sits in the Toxic Valley with a red front door and snow falling across the yard. He has done more than leave a few chairs scattered through an empty prefab.

The sitting room has curtains, rugs and upholstered furniture arranged around its timber pillars. Other rooms have been given their own character, from the star covered hallway to a collection of familiar blue and yellow figures. A workshop holds machinery and a yellow robot, while a warm porch corner looks out over the snow.

I know how quickly a big building can eat up a man’s materials and patience. Bubble has used lamps, larger furnishings and distinct rooms to make the space feel attended to. For all his stranger work elsewhere, this one shows a fellow willing to stick with an ordinary house until it feels like home.
