BRICK & BRIAR

On a wooded slope, Svetlana built an angular brick cottage with glass climbing along the roofline. A low wall and iron gate separate the front walk from the road, while autumn brush gathers close around the masonry. The house looks modern, but it sits in the hillside as naturally as an old stone foundation.

Inside, warm wood floors and brick walls frame a living room, kitchen, dining corner, and several small private spaces. The furniture is comfortable without being showy, and plants appear wherever sunlight reaches through the tall windows. Her collections remain close, though this time they are given room to breathe.

Brick & Briar shows what Svetlana can make when she trades scrap walls for careful lines. It is still guarded and still unmistakably hers, but there is peace in the order of it. A person could sit at that long table and remember that a quiet life can still be a good one.
