RUSTLEAF ROOST

Under a broad red tree, Svetlana gathered old sheet metal, lumber, warning signs, and whatever useful pieces other folks had left behind. She built them into a tall home with a porch below and living quarters tucked above it. From the road it looks like a junk pile that learned how to stand up straight.

Inside, the rooms are crowded with workbenches, clocks, plants, toys, and little objects that caught her eye. There is a table for a quiet meal, a piano for evenings when the silence grows heavy, and enough shelves to hold years of wandering. Every corner carries some memory, even if Svetlana is the only person who knows what it means.

Rustleaf Roost suits a woman who values privacy more than polish. The signs warn strangers away, while the lamps and open windows make a gentler promise to anyone she chooses to trust. It is a rough home, but it is cared for, and that counts for plenty in Appalachia.
