I was looking through Burning Springs when Rad Rux's Zetan Crawler came into view through the colored haze. A broad domed cap sits above a glass fronted body, with heavy arms reaching out on either side. Below it, separate mechanical legs hold the whole assembly clear of the ground.

There is a remarkable amount packed into that narrow middle. Tubes, lamps, instruments and bright green equipment fill the spaces between the metal ribs. Rux has joined parts from earlier experiments into something that looks related to the strange machines drifting overhead, without simply copying one of them.

I will leave questions about visitors from elsewhere to people who know more than I do. My interest was in the construction I could actually see. The crawler's shape stays readable despite all those parts, and that takes planning as well as a well supplied scrap pile.
