Nuka Notes is the sort of shop I would have stopped at just to look through the windows. Megs has filled the place with instruments, old audio equipment and records. A big sign marks the entrance, and the counter inside looks ready for the next person with a question.

The instruments hang neatly in the arched spaces, while cases and equipment gather around the central table. There’s a comfortable leather sofa, a record section and a raised stage with drums. She’s even made room for a recording studio, which is no small achievement in a camp this full.

Music was part of ordinary life long before the war, and it needn’t be lost just because the world changed. Megs knows the value of preserving a familiar sound, much as she preserves her family’s photographs and memories. I’d be pleased to hear an old hymn played here, though I’d leave the instrument work to somebody with steadier fingers than mine.
