I stepped into Vault NukaMegs expecting another tidy shelter and found enough smiling figures for a whole shop window. Megs has filled the blue and yellow rooms with statues, posters, small collections and carefully placed plants. She has not given me a location for this one, but there is no mistaking whose place it is.

There are comfortable chairs and little displays along the corridor, then rows upon rows of bobbleheads in the larger room. At the far end, yellow wall panels form an enormous blond head around a plain shelter door. The eyes, nose and mouth are made from ordinary building pieces. I stood there longer than I meant to, working out how she had put it together.

Megs has kept her childhood Vault Girl mask through a great deal of hardship. This shelter treats those familiar smiling faces with a lighter touch. A fellow can appreciate careful construction and still have a chuckle at it, and I believe that was the point here.
