Megs calls this one Nuclear Sunset Pool. I’ll leave the nuclear part of the name to her, but I can appreciate the work she’s done around the water. Stone paving, blue diving boards and a white fence give the pool a clear shape in its Forest setting.

She’s arranged the loungers beneath a shelter and strung lanterns across the whole deck. Pink plants and flower filled barrels bring color right up to the pool’s edge. The inner tubes and tall chair are small details, but they make the place feel finished instead of just dressed for a picture.

The familiar smiling decorations are there too, a reminder of the family memories Megs carries with her. I like that she hasn’t let a hard world persuade her everything has to look hard. A clean path, a carefully hung lamp and a place to sit are simple things, and simple things still matter.
